Swiss watch manufacturer IWC Schaffhausen have announced that they will introduce Portofino For Two, a new selection of two watches, that are aimed at couples.
The Portofino Automatic (40 mm) and Portofino Automatic 37 (37 mm), available for men and women, respectively, will be powered by a mechanical movement that beats at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4Hz). In addition to a minimum power reserve of approximately 42 hours, it drives the watches functions that include a date display and central hacking seconds.
“The success of IWC’s Portofino watch line over the years can be explained by a discreet sense of style that goes way beyond shortlived fashion trends,” explains Georges Kern, CEO of IWC Schaffhausen. “In keeping with its name, this watch family reflects a carefree lifestyle suffused with southern flair. The Portofino For Two is a wonderful way for couples who share not only the same values, but also the same taste to show the world that they belong together.”
To embrace the individually of couples around the world, the Portofino For Two range of watches will be available in a selection of six red gold and two stainless-steel variations. Some, will boast diamond-set bezels or dials.
The elegant and classic design of the range features a clearly-laid out dial with three hands and an understated date window, of which is encased within a sapphire crystal glass display with anti-reflective coating on both sides to ensure its readability under a variety of lighting conditions. Furthermore, the mirror-polished surface of the case lends a touch of luxury, whilst the sunburst pattern on the dial itself creates fascinating reflections of light.
Finishing each timepiece produced in the range off is an alligator leather strap that is sourced from the well-known Italian shoe manufacturer Santoni.
